Class 9 Social Science: chapters, notes, MCQs and tests

Class 9 is the base for everything that comes later. A topic that feels easy now, such as number systems or atoms and molecules, comes back in a tougher form in Class 10. So it pays to understand each chapter properly instead of rushing to finish the syllabus.

Social Science covers history, geography, civics and economics, so it can feel like four subjects packed into one. Dates and names matter in history, maps and data matter in geography, and in civics and economics the definitions and examples fetch the marks. The notes here keep each of these in short points so that you can go through a chapter in a single sitting.

On Examora, Class 9 Social Science has 30 chapters, starting with The French Revolution, Socialism in Europe and the Russian Revolution, Nazism and the Rise of Hitler and ending with Food Security in India. 20 of them have notes, 28 have practice MCQs, and 30 come with a chapter test and three online tests.

Do not try to memorise a full chapter at once. Read it in parts, write the important words on a sheet of paper, and then solve the MCQs. Map work and long answers need their own practice, so use the notes as a base and then write your answers in your own notebook.

Each chapter below links to its own notes, split into topics, so you can read only the part you need. The MCQs show a short explanation after every answer. The chapter test puts ten questions on one page, while the online tests give you one question at a time with a five minute timer and a full result at the end. You do not have to log in for any of it.
