Class 10 English: chapters, notes, MCQs and tests

Class 10 is your first board exam, and the paper follows a fixed pattern of objective questions, short answers and long answers. Practice with MCQs and previous year questions makes a big difference, because many questions come in the same style every year.

English has stories, poems and grammar, and each of them needs a different kind of practice. For a story or a poem you should understand the theme, the characters and the message before you look at any question. Short notes on each lesson help you recall what happened and why it matters when the paper asks about it.

On Examora, Class 10 English has 15 chapters, starting with A Letter to God, A Triumph of Surgery, Nelson Mandela Long Walk to Freedom and ending with Nelson Mandela. 12 of them have notes, 14 have practice MCQs, and 15 come with a chapter test and three online tests.

Read the lesson in your textbook first, then use these notes and the MCQs to check what you remember. Practise writing answers in your own words, because marks go to clear answers and not to copied lines. Grammar improves through many small questions, so use the MCQs often.

Each chapter below links to its own notes, split into topics, so you can read only the part you need. The MCQs show a short explanation after every answer. The chapter test puts ten questions on one page, while the online tests give you one question at a time with a five minute timer and a full result at the end. You do not have to log in for any of it.
